drama ni sebenarnya dari manga jepun yang popular pada tahun 1991 yang bertajuk "Itazura na Kiss atau Playful Kiss oleh Kaoru Tada.cerita ni kemudian menjadi anime dan drama ,untuk drama terdapat pelbagai versi dari jepun,taiwan,korea dan dibuat semula oleh jepun sebagai remake.
cerita mengenai seorang pelajar kelas bawah yang meminati seorang pelajar pandai di sekolahnya.beliau telah jatuh cinta pada pandangan pertama dan ingin meluahkan perasaannya.pada suatu hari beliau telah meluahkan perasaannya kepada pelajar lelaki tersebut tetapi pelajar lelaki itu telah menolaknya dengan alasan beliau tidak menyukai pelajar 'bodoh".
kemudian suatu hari rumah pelajar perempuan ini runtuh akibat kejadian gempa bumi dan mereka terpaksa menumpang di rumah kawan ayahnya.tambah mengejutkan rupanya anak kawan bapanya adalah pelajar lelaki yang diminatinya.selepas itu bermulalah kehidupan mereka di bawah satu bumbung yang sama dan akhirnya bercinta.
